Swiss Foundations rally behind IRIS

Swiss charitable foundations of the République et Canton de Genève, Frères de nos Frères, Fondation Albatross, Giving Women and Fondation Tellus Viva all renewed grants in 2011 to support IRIS blindness prevention programmes in Sri Lanka. IRIS continues to stage monthly eye screening, refraction and cataract surgery camps with a number of local partner organisations.

In November 2010, Carigest SA, a new Swiss donor, approved support for 9 eye screening camps to take place on tea estates in the Central Province of Sri Lanka for the benefit of elders who have retired from working on the estates but are still living in plantation company accommodation.
