Nepal – new eye camp programme
on May 13 in Featured posted by admin
IRIS sponsored six micro-surgical eye camps being staged in remote, rural areas of Nepal during August & September 2011 for the benefit of poor people. The camps were organised in conjunction with Nepal Netra Jyoti Sang, the coordinating, umbrella body for eye care in Nepal. In Gorka District, a woman aged 104, blind in both eyes due to cataracts, travelled for two days from her village to get to the eye camp, carried all the way in a basket on the back of her 18 year old great grandson!
